Sion Milosky, known to us all as a professional surfer, and Hawaiian big wave rider, aged only 35, died early on Thursday when he was surfing at Mavericks, Half Moon Bay, California.

Eyewitnesses at the site said, that the surfer caught a wave 25 feet (about 7 feet high), fell and got caught up with the other waves in the set up, and drowned.

Milosky was found 20 minutes after already dead and about 2 miles from the crash site.

Last year he was named the "Underground Surfer of the Year" by North Shore Hawaiian prize that earned him $ 25,000 and allowed him to travel to the famous Mavericks.

Sion has left behind a wife and two daughters. He was a native of the island of Kaui, the same as Andy Irons, world surfing legend that died in November last year.

Words can’t describe the great sadness and loss that has befallen yet another great Kauai's Surfer.

Rest in Peace, Andy and Sion

Tips and Tricks for second life surfers

First two things to remember when surfing in Second Life , always remember to turn off your ao and always have your chat window dropped down.

Once on your board you’ll need to debug it by using the S & E keys, tap the keys one after the other, you will see yourself move on the board, it almost looks like you’re waving to somebody.   It’s important to do this, as it stops you from being thrown into the next sim

Tricks and Tips,

•    Always enter the wave from the side not head on

•    The Crouch manoeuvre: Once in the wave, you will automatically stand up on your board, to crouch down press your page down key or you can use your C key. (If you do this while out of a wave, you will likely go under water which can also be fun lol)

• The Flip manoeuvre: To look super cool in front of your friends, try using the S& E keys, tap them one after the other to flip on you board.

• The Plane manoeuvre: Press down the C & W keys at the same time.

•    The Speed key: To Speed before or while in a wave tap on your W key

•    Using your legs: Using your legs in Second Life surfing is just as important as it is in Real Life, to do this you use your Page up key and Page down key, using this method will not only make you look like a real pro, it will prevent you from belling as much when you lose a wave.

•    Recovery: When you have come to far out of the wave, it’s likely you will belly, to stop this from happing or to help prevent it, just stand up on your board using the Page Up key, and point towards the wave add a couple of flips S & E

•    Turning: If you feel you’re about to fall out at the end of a wave, it’s always best to turn well before the end, to do this use your direction keys Left or Right Arrows, depending on which way you want to turn. Also by tapping quickly on your Up Arrow this will help you climb or even make you do a 360 manoeuvre

If you feel like you're being pulled backwords while surfing, just do a flip S & E and this will make you go forward.

You could also try using the W & E tap these two keys one after the other and see what happens lol
